After the release of his debut album, Bruce Springsteen had to survive the comparisons to Bob Dylan that were heaped on him. Fortunately, in spite of the hype, he was able to move forward and create a second album. It wasn’t clear at that point whether his career would be a success or not. But with that second collection of songs, Springsteen distanced himself from the folksinger tag that had been pinned on him and gave it everything he had to get himself noticed and remembered.
