"Pride"—take two
U2 have a new release on the way, a compilation album of songs that have been “reimagined and re-recorded.”
The band’s guitarist, The Edge, described the new release in a letter to fans by explaining that the majority of U2’s music “was written and recorded when we were a bunch of very young men” and that with the passage of time those songs have come to “mean something quite different to us now”.
Here’s a sample of one of those re-imagined tracks from the 40 song set (due to be released on March 17, 2023 on vinyl, CD, cassette, and digital).
As The Edge wrote, “Music allows you to time travel, and we became curious to find out what it would be like to bring our early songs back with us to the present day and give them the benefit, or otherwise, of a 21st century reimagining.”
