Getting you going!

According to Mark Bego’s biography of Tina Turner, what she liked most about her new album Private Dancer “was the fact that it really rocked, much more so than any of her previous recordings.”

“‘It’s neither rock and roll nor R ’n’ B, but it’s a bit of both,’ Tina explained.  “‘Rhythm and blues to me has always been a bit of a downer:  in the attitude, in the moan, in the plea.  Rock and roll [on the other hand] has always been straight on.  You wanna put it on to get you going!”
